I have a one off commission that I got through a lead form. I went to the client’s profile to send a pay link to test out the feature and she was able to pay, so it worked well. However, I got really confused because it ended up listing that payment as a new project in my feed so it looks like I have two projects for her, which sort of defeats the purpose. :(
Hi Shauna Lynn,
Thank you for reaching out! I’m Alon, HoneyBook's Payments Product Manager, and I truly appreciate your helpful feedback.
It sounds like the current behavior of creating a new project for payments made via pay link caused some unnecessary confusion. I completely understand how having duplicate projects for the same client could complicate your workflow.
To ensure we address this properly, I’d like to ask: Would your ideal behavior be having the option to link the payment to an existing project instead? For instance, while setting up the pay link, you could choose an existing project from a menu, so the payment gets attributed there directly.
Your input will help us refine the feature to better fit your needs. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience!
Best,
Alon
Yes, that would be helpful, or the option to have it not connect to anything other than the client itself.
In this instance, the lead form created a project, which for commissions I don’t really need a bunch of individual projects for, but I can make do. Since it’s a project, sending an invoice smart file is prob the easiest, but if I could just send a simple pay link instead, that would be helpful.
