Contact Form notification days late from actual submission.

A client with a tight timeline submitted their initial inquiry via my website using the embedded contact form from honeybook, they then followed up right afterward to my direct email address with the same info, expressing that it was a tight deadline and needed to hear back asap. I didn’t get the contact form notification from honeybook until two days after they submitted it. I would have lost this work had they not reached out directly to my email after submitting the contact form. Two days delayed notification is WAY too long to wait to be notified someone has tried to contact you. After contacting honeybook they said that they have to manually review inquiries as it could be spam. Why are they manually reviewing these and if they are, why am i not notified about the actual submission date or that it was flagged as potential spam. I still receive random inquires i know to be spam without an flag etc.

@Anne Schmitt - That would definitely be concerning, especially when a client has a tight timeline and expects a quick response.

A two-day delay between the form submission and notification isn't something I would expect to see as normal behavior, so I'm glad you reached out to Support. Since this could potentially involve deliverability, spam filtering, or account-specific behavior, I would continue working with Support and ask them to investigate the specific inquiry and timeline.

It may also be worth asking whether there were any indicators on the submission that caused it to be delayed or handled differently than a typical inquiry.

Thankfully the client followed up directly, but I can certainly understand wanting more visibility into when inquiries are received and whether any action has been taken on them behind the scenes. 💛
