I loaded a contact in honeybook and just used a “dummy email address” since I only had their phone number. A few days later I got their email address and got the message “Email is used by an existing contact".
A new contact had been created from Google when they had emailed me so there were 2 contacts in Honeybook for the same person. I deleted contact that had been created from Google, but now I can’t use their email as I am still getting the “Email is used by an existing contact".
Any ideas????

@Chenise Upshur - The suggestion above is exactly where I would start, especially checking for any existing/open projects that may still have that email attached somewhere in the background.
If you’ve already confirmed the duplicate contact was deleted and you’re still getting the error, this is probably one of those situations where Support will need to help clear or refresh the contact record on the backend. I’d definitely recommend reaching out through the ? icon in your account so they can take a closer look.
Hopefully it’s just a lingering connection issue and a quick fix on their side! 💛
Double check that the contact was actually deleted. And also check to see if there are any open projects with that email attached. Otherwise, I think you should be able to use it. If you’re still having trouble, reach out to support directly. They may can to a refresh on that contact on the back end so you can get it squared away
