Replying to an email sent by an automation does not populate recipients

Is this expected behavior, or maybe a known issue? 

TL;dr -- Replying to an existing message that was sent through an automation, recipients don’t auto-populate.

 

I have a new inquiry, and after they inquire they get an automated email through an Automation. 

I open up the project and reply in thread to the automated email. 

No recipients are chosen; I have to select them. 

Is this expected behavior?
