Has anyone heard an explanation from Honeybook why it takes 7-8 days for ACH payments to post to your bank account? That seems awfully long considering other options like Quickbooks take 24-48 hours to post ACH transactions. I feel 7-8 days is a significant time to take for payments to post. Could be a real problem for many companies cash flow. 

hi all! I created an invoice quickly to a client so she can get onboarded. When she booked a call with me it created a project. I should’ve created the invoice inside of her project but i didn’t think of that. Is there anyway to merge them together?

Hello!  I need expanded reporting that is easy to view. We currently use Shopify for our POS system and online sales and HB for our custom orders and events. What we need to be able to easily view:-Sales for the events that happen each month. Since our final payments are due 30 days prior, the current file reports do not work. We need to see the months events and the dollar amount for the month, not booked revenue.  -Breakdown of items sold- for example- I would like to look back and see what our leading items we sold each month and year were. This helps us with trends, ensuring our delivery fees, rentals and baked goods are all separate in our planning. A break down of each item would be amazing- Total delivery fee, total cookies, total cakes, total rental etc.  I have had nothing but issues the last year with reporting not downloading across my two laptops. I really need this to be addressed.Currently, my team members are able to see the prices that clients paid for their services. This has consistently created issues, as contractors naturally compare those figures to their own compensation—without any visibility into overhead costs, operating expenses, taxes, or whether I am even able to pay myself in a given year.This crosses significant professional boundaries for me.It would be extremely beneficial—and frankly necessary—for team members to be able to see which services were selected and purchased, without seeing what the client paid for them. Hi Honeybook Users! Question in regards to invoices/Payments. When a client makes a payment of say $500, when its in my honeybook balance its only like $492. Does honeybook take a percentage for use of CC? If so, How do I add the percentage to CC payments in my invoices?

In the Smart Invoice system, when a payment is refunded, the refunded amount does not reappear as an outstanding balance. This creates a serious issue for us.Many of our clients choose to pay by check to receive the pay-by-check discount and avoid credit card processing fees. If they accidentally pay by card and the payment is refunded, Smart Invoice is not restoring that payment as due, so the invoice shows as fully paid even when it isn’t.Because I am waiting for the physical check to arrive to manually mark the payment as complete, if the check never comes, the system provides no alert or indication that a balance is still owed. If this is not caught manually, a client could effectively avoid paying, which is completely unacceptable.This functionality needs to be corrected as soon as possible.

Hey everyone! 👋Quick question... has anyone figured out how to link Rocket Money with HoneyBook to better organize expenses for taxes? It would be such a game-changer if there were a way to sync or automate this! Any workarounds, integrations, or tips would be amazing. 🙏

I contacted support about this but thought I’d write it here for the development team to see + anyone that agrees to chime in on. But I’m based in Canada and so automatically have my invoices sent in CAD. However, I work with a lot of US clients and 1. It may be off putting for them to pay in CAD (even though it automatically gets converted to USD) 2. I sometimes miss out on cash when I am estimating the USD to CAD conversion based on their budget, but exchange rates change all the time, so sometimes I may be getting less than their budget.  Long story short it would be great to be able to select what currency you want your invoice be sent in — especially for recurring invoices. What do yall think?

There used to be a "Dues & Subscriptions" as well as "Professional Prints option in the Tax Category drop down on the expenses page and they are no longer available.  How do we bring these options back? Personally, I used these two options the most as a photographer and would love to continue categorizing in this way. 😅

Good Morning, A client’s card was declined for insufficient funds. This has happened once before and she corrected it with no problems. This time she is telling me… When I click on link to go to invoice It says only people in US or Canada can access. Can you please help? 

Any idea why my client is receiving this message? I confirmed the email is the same. We have been emailing back and forth just fine, but for some reason now that she is trying to make her final payment, she is receiving this message. I even tried resending the payment link. 

I wanted to share some feedback regarding how Smart Files handle payment plan selections and how it impacts the “Upcoming Payments” tracking.When a client receives a Smart File and selects a payment plan—let’s say two installments—but doesn’t complete the payment (either because they aren’t ready or plan to choose a different plan like 12 installments later), HoneyBook still reflects that selection as an upcoming payment. For example, if the total is $1200 and they select two payments, my dashboard shows a $600 upcoming payment—even though no payment has actually been submitted and the client never finalized their selection.This creates a misleading view of my actual expected income, because the client might ultimately choose a different plan (like 12 payments) or not pay at all yet. It throws off my ability to track true upcoming revenue.Suggestions: Only reflect upcoming payments once a client has completed payment authorization

We are an event venue and use Toast for our point of sale. We want to start collecting payments in HoneyBook because Toast Catering & Events is not functioning like we need it to. If we ring in our sales for the event that has been pain in HoneyBook, should we tax exempt or ring in the tax? We still have to report taxes from Toast for our bar service either way. Thanks in advance for your help! 

Hi team and fellow HoneyBook users,I'd love to request a feature that I think many of us would benefit from: a way to clearly see how much money is still expected from scheduled payments across all active projects.Right now, the “Total Bookings” shows full contract value, and “Payments Received” shows what's been paid—but there’s no visible total for what's still outstanding. To figure that out, I have to manually subtract one from the other, which gets messy as my volume grows.What I’d love to see: A “Future Payments Remaining” line item or widget on the dashboard Optional filters by project, payment due date, or status Visibility in reports or a dedicated cash flow forecast view I know HoneyBook is working on Financial Insights and a new Client Portal—this feature feels like a natural fit alongside those updates. I have a smart file template set up with 5 pages:Services (they select one term of lessons 16 flute lessons over four months for a monthly price) Contract (collects details about the student and, if applicable, the parent, lists term begin and end dates, number of lessons, length of each lesson, payment terms, student, parent and teacher responsibilities) Scheduler (where they can sign up for the first up for the first lesson in the series. I’ve also added a question for them to indicate dates/weeks they are unavailable. After they complete the smart file I will set up the remaining 15 lessons manually.) Invoice (see below for what I’d like) Payment (require auto-pay)On the invoice, I’d like to have the first payment due either when they sign the invoice (best) or on the first of the month of the term they have signed up for. The Integration to Quickbooks has been kind of wonky since April 1st..  Paid invoices are showing on the Quickbooks bank register as a debit.  The payments are showing as credits, but the Account receivable invoice still shows up as a debit.  It’s showing my Quickbooks balance way off from my bank balance. I haven’t reconciled April yet, but I suspect all of these will show up as uncleared transactions.  is anyone else seeing these?

A client is refusing to pay their final balance. How do I enter on Honeybook non-payment so I don’t keep getting reminded their payment is due? This client is choosing to stiff our company and we need to enter that loss and not get reminders anymore.

I can’t finish my Quickbooks integration because one required field shows no options - see below. I’ve been able to set the other fields, such as incoming deposits and tax rate. How can I fix this? 

Hi Everyone,I wanted to reach out to the community so that I could get others to chime in on the issue our company is having with our need for recurring invoicing and one-time fees.  The only current solution to have a one-time fee included within a Recurring Invoice is to add it and then manually remove it after the initial recurring scheduled invoice is paid.  This creates a lot more manual work on our end, but the bigger issue is the confusion and risk it poses with the client.  First, we have to explain that their next scheduled invoice will initially show up wrong until we manually correct it by removing the one-time fee. Then, we also have to explain that they will need to approve this removal of the one-time fee before it can actually take effect and be corrected.  This runs great risk that they will ignore, forget, get confused, lose trust, or other possible unfavorable outcomes that will result in them not approving the change and our company not getting paid on the

Is anyone else’s payment section auto-correcting to the day before payment is made?For example, if I want to manually enter that a client paid today, when I select February 19th as the date it saves as the 18th instead. 

I am so upset. It was decided by HoneyBook that the Expenses tab is here to stay. But, I just checked and it’s no longer importing expenses like it should. It looks like it stopped on Jan. 11th.I chatted with support and they said that the engineering team is unable to edit the code needed to update the behavior. They apologized for any disappointment. So, basically out of luck until they feel like fixing it.If I would have been given notice I could have tracked another way. This is an awful way to treat customers.

I’m looking for a new bookkeeper and accountant for 2025. I used Kickstart Accounting and KSA Tax Services for 2024, but keep running into issues. The latest being we have to file an extension because they booked up tax availability within 3 hours of sending me a booking link (and my having already paid monthly in 2024). I’m needing someone who understands basic business, works virtually, and can file taxes in Missouri and Alabama. My taxes are fairly simple with a single owner LLC, my husband has a W2 job and a 1099 job. Nothing too crazy.
