Expanded Reporting

The Speakeasy Baking Co.

Hello!

I need expanded reporting that is easy to view. We currently use Shopify for our POS system and online sales and HB for our custom orders and events. What we need to be able to easily view:

-Sales for the events that happen each month. Since our final payments are due 30 days prior, the current file reports do not work. We need to see the months events and the dollar amount for the month, not booked revenue.

-Breakdown of items sold- for example- I would like to look back and see what our leading items we sold each month and year were. This helps us with trends, ensuring our delivery fees, rentals and baked goods are all separate in our planning. A break down of each item would be amazing- Total delivery fee, total cookies, total cakes, total rental etc.

I have had nothing but issues the last year with reporting not downloading across my two laptops. I would love to be able to view this online with out downloading, similar to how Shopify is.

@The Speakeasy Baking Co. -

You’re definitely not alone in this — HoneyBook’s reporting is fairly limited compared to a true POS system like Shopify, especially when it comes to event-based revenue vs. booked revenue and item-level breakdowns.

Right now, HoneyBook reports are tied more to payment activity and booking dates, not event dates, which is why it’s so hard to see “this month’s events and total revenue” when final payments are collected earlier. There also isn’t a native way to get itemized reporting (delivery fees vs. rentals vs. baked goods, etc.) across projects the way Shopify does.

Most teams handling this level of complexity end up:

  • Exporting reports and manipulating them externally (spreadsheets / accounting tools), or

  • Running parallel tracking outside of HoneyBook for operational and trend analysis

That said, what you’re describing would be a huge improvement — especially for businesses managing inventory, rentals, and event-based fulfillment.

I’d strongly recommend submitting this as a Feature Request (or breaking it into a couple: event-date reporting + itemized sales reporting). The more clearly you outline the use case — especially coming from a hybrid Shopify + HoneyBook workflow — the more useful it is for the product team. Upvoting similar requests can also help build traction. 💛
