Scheduler to Allow Session Options to be Selected

I had a client who scheduled a quick consult with me which is set up as a video call in HB. However, the day of, they wanted to adjust the meeting method to a phone call. In the short term I created two separate session types, however, I realized that the lead form can only support one - so wasn’t really an efficient fix. Is there a way that at the time of booking, the client can select between phone or video options? Has anyone else ran into this need, and if so, how did you accommodate?

Hey @Shanice SM Success You’re not alone! I’m a Honeybook Pro and to my knowledge, Honeybook doesn’t offer a built-in way for clients to choose between phone or video directly within a single session type or lead form.

There are 2 things I would recommend:

If you do not have the session inside the lead form and you send a link later or schedule it yourself, you could include a required question in the lead or contact form like:

👉 “How would you prefer to meet? (Phone or Video)”

Then, you can schedule accordingly.

The other thing you can do is simply choose one to have in your lead form, and then in the confirmation section of the session settings, you can emphasize in the emails that this is a video/phone call, and if they would like to change it, to contact you.

THEN if they ask to change meeting type, you can go to your Honeybook calendar, click the meeting, then click Edit on the bottom right. In the details section, you’ll be able to change the type of meeting (from phone to video or vice versa) so you don’t need to have an entirely different session scheduled!

I’d recommend the second option as it’s less work and less back and forth between you and the client. But totally up to you!

I’d also recommend heading over to the Idea tab to upvote any requests around this! The more voices behind it, the more likely HoneyBook is to prioritize it in future updates. You're definitely not the only one wanting that kind of flexibility.

Have you noticed clients wanting to switch meeting methods often?

I know that’s a lot of information, so if you have any questions or need visuals, let me know. Does that answer your question?

Thank you Kaitlyn! This was very helpful and affirmed my current process aligned with your suggested option 2. So far I haven’t had too many clients make the request, but just wanted to make sure I was utilizing the function to it’s fullest potential. I will also take a look at the Idea tab of requests. Thank you again!
