Hi, we need the option in the project to assign task to the people that are also collaborating in the workspace of the same project… same when scheduling meetings.

We need to have the option of showing/adding all the people involved within that project. And not, I wont be adding the collaborators to the client’s main dashboard since i don’t want the collaborators to see the email we exchange etc. please see the attached image!

In the image you see I can’t assign that last task to the person collaborating...

@Rebrand Agency -  Absolutely—this is a really great observation and a common challenge for collaborative teams using HoneyBook!

Right now, tasks and meetings within a project can only be assigned to team members added to your HoneyBook account, not to external collaborators added via the project workspace. That means, unfortunately, you can’t assign tasks directly to a collaborator unless they’re part of your internal team.

That said, here’s a potential workaround you might try in the meantime:

💡 Workaround Idea:

If you’re working with collaborators who aren’t internal team members but still need to receive and manage tasks:

  • Create a shared checklist using an external tool like Google Docs or Notion and link it in the project workspace or an email. This keeps things centralized without giving full internal access.

  • Or, if you use HoneyBook’s client-facing task lists, you could repurpose a task file to delegate action items to collaborators. Just be mindful of visibility—only include what’s meant for them.

And of course—be sure to submit this request to the Ideas section of the HoneyBook community! They are actively working on improving project management features, and your feedback helps shape future updates.
