Question

Auto add tasks to calendar?

My biggest struggle with work is knowing what tasks/emails need to be sent on what days. Right now the tasks are just getting caught up in all the other notifications and if I don’t log into Honeybook every single day, I don’t see what tasks need to be done/emails need to be sent. I have everything set on automation BUT is there a way that those tasks can then be sent or synced with my calendar? Is there another app that I can use a workaround for?

For example, in automation I have for a “project XYZ”, 30 days after a project date (November 1st) I have an email scheduled to approve and send - this shows up in my calendar as something to do on November 30th.

Hey @Kimberly Crist  ! Honeybook Educator and Operations Manager here.

Probably the best option is just to keep Honeybook open in a tab and check in once every day. This is what I do and it helps me keep sales, leads, follow up, etc top of mind!

There are 2 other things you can consider:

1. Implement a project management tool. Some popular ones are ClickUp, Monday.com, Notion, Trello etc. for many of these you can set up templates for each project type you have that include all the tasks required for that particular project. Look for something that has templates and allows you to remap dates based on a start date or due date. Many of these have email notifications that send to you.  If you don't need something terribly complex (most freelancers/solopreneues don't!), Google workspace is sufficient. You can have tasks, calendar, and use SmartChips in Google docs or Sheets to keep track of everything. NOTE: If you don't work the system, the system won't work!! This is what I tell my clients all the time. It's more important to find a system that works for you than to have something extra or fancy that you won't use. I mention this because if you're currently using email notifications as a sort of project management notification, there is a higher likelihood you will miss things than if you plot time to pop into Honeybook or another PM tool each day :)

2. You can look into using Zapier to create your project, a client folder, or tasks when someone signs a contract in Honeybook, or when they pay, etc.

Hope this helps - feel free to reach out if you have other questions!
