Can I send a private message in a project?

I am a wedding planner and needed to send an email to a florist I am working with. They requested that I only send messages through HB so that my message doesn’t get lost in an email server. However, I need to be able to send emails with timeline details, parking and day-of logistics, liability insurance requests, and any other messages that I do on behalf of my couple. Since my couples are also in the portal they get notified of these messages. My messages are not secretive, but my emails do not need to flood my couples’ inbox. Is there a way to send a message to just one of the collaborators?

Thank you!

Kylie

@Kylie Wallace  - I know this is old and probably past the timeframe you need the answer but I wanted to toss it out there! There isn’t a way to do this at this time but you could always call or message them to create a separate workspace OR you could create a workspace for the project within your own account to have conversations separate from the client space. Just a couple of thoughts that popped into my head when reading this.

Hi @Kylie Wallace!

Yes, there is! You can create related workspaces within that project: with just the florist, just the couple - or all of them at once to separate those conversations.

Let me know if this helps :)

Thank you! Good to know when I make projects  :)  However, I am messaging with the florist that created the HB project, so is there a way to create a workspace on a project that I did not create?

@Kylie Wallace , HB has a new feature where you can add and remove recipients from an email.  Look for the + and - signs at the top.

@Alicia Bauer  Thank you!! This will be most helpful, as many of the projects are not my own  :)

I have seen conflicting information as to whether or not people that are NOT included in the message but ARE in the workspace can still see the messages if they login to the portal. For example, if I want to communicate with my team mate in a workspace but don’t want the client (who is also in the workspace) to see it - can I send a message with only my teammate as a recipient?

Hey @Kristine-VA

You are able to send messages to just specific members of your project. Only the recipients will see the messages. However, if you add a participant to a project after there have been communications already happening in the workspace, they WILL be able to see past communications. Everyone in the project will receive payment reminders.

You could also create a related workspace for just you and your team!
