Can the scheduler block different amounts of time based services selected?

Hi!  I have searched multiple places within the community as well as online and YouTube trying to figure out if I can get different time blocks based on what the client chooses from the services and sub-services list.

I am a photographer and one of the sessions I offer is a professional headshot session.  I have sub-services as add-ons for hair, makeup, and additional outfits.  The session itself takes X time, adding hair and makeup takes up an additional X amount of time, shooting another outfit takes another additional amount of time.  I need the scheduler to add these different amounts of time based on these add-ons instead of just blocking out one chunk of time.  Is there a work around for something like this?  Currently I have all my sessions set for 4 hours and then I go in and manually adjust the time block based on what the client booked.  Any help is appreciated!

Hi @Jessy Taylor ! I haven't tested this, but here's what I'd try.

Create a Lead Form that has a Service Selections page. The add-ons should be in a separate services section below the main session they're purchasing. Then, for each service, you can add a session right there on the service item.

Where this gets tricky is the scheduling part. The client would either need to schedule multiple sessions (the main + the add ons) back to back (in which case you'd need to communicate that on the SmartFile)  OR possibly lump the sessions together based on the amount of add-ons they chose.

For example:

Main service takes 1 hour

Hair adds 30mins

Makeup adds 30 mins

If client chooses makeup or hair add-on, you'd make the session length 90 minutes.

For when they choose multiple add-ons, I actually wonder if you just create "packages" that include everything, then create sessions that reflect the total amount of time it would take. In this case you'd just have 1 service block and the packages would look like this:

1. Headshots

2. Headshots + hair

3. Headshots + makeup

4. Headshots + hair & makeup

And so on, with their corresponding prices.

For each package/combo then, you'd add a HB scheduling session that's that length, ie

Headshots + Hair & Makeup = 2 hours

Let me know if this helps!

Ps. I know conditional automations are on the roadmap ... I wonder if that would solve it when it's released also.

In this case, how I HOPE it will work is if client chooses one package (say Headshots + hair) they'll be emailed a link to book the corresponding session. You could technically do this with project types, contact forms, and automations right now, but I wouldn't recommend it unless the ONLY type of photography you offer is headshots with these add-ons. (If you do weddings, family sessions, etc, those options should be your project types)

@Cassie H of Premier Ops Spot  This is great!  I’m still a newbie with HB and trying to figure out how to manipulate the program to work best for me.  I will do some restructuring with how I have everything set up and test it out in the next week or so and let you know!  Thanks os much for this insight!

I am also a photographer and having a conditional time change on the scheduler based on the types of services booked would be AMAZING!! I hope they roll this out soon! Thank you for sharing!
