Why can’t I manually post a credit card payment for my corporate client?

Hey Tony! Elli from the Education team at HoneyBook here. 😊

Are you asking about making payment on behalf of your client, with their card details; marking a payment that was made outside of HoneyBook; or something else? If marking as paid - that’s something you can absolutely do - see here

Let me know and we can hopefully assist further.

Hey, Elli.  I lot of my corporate clients use a credit card payment service from bill.com to pay their invoices .  Bill.com sends a temporarily credit card number with an expiration date, etc.  When I get that I email from Bill.com I need to use that information to manually process my clients credit card payment.  I was able to do this in Dubsado by clicking on a button to make a payment on the invoice.  I need that ability with Honeybook.  The ability to manually process a credit card number.  Suggesting that I send the information back to the client to process the payment is not idea as it was suggested to me when I contacted support.  I had to create a separate invoice in my business Stripe account to process the payment then go into Honeybook to mark it as paid -- not an idea way of doing it.

Thanks for asking!

Hello.  I am looking for some guidance around the fee that is charged to us when a client uses a credit card.  At present, HoneyBook is unable to add a 3% charge on the bill when a card is used, unless you know they are using a card beforehand.  Anyone have any work around?  Thank you!

I have a workaround.  You can reach out to me at tony@stlphotoparty.com and I will share.

@Tony Williams - thank you so much for sharing those additional details. I totally hear you. I’ve passed this along to the team and do know that ways we can provide you with even more control over your clientflow are top of mind!

Yes, we absolutely need a way to process a credit card payment for our clients. Just this week I have needed to do so twice and had to switch to my Square account to take their payment.
