Cumbersome initial client portal link & magic link instructions

When a client portal ink is manually sent to a client for the first time it is extremely confusing.

 

They’re prompted to log in on or hit “forgot password” which is where it gets confusing because they have never made an account which means they don't have a password to reset. They also have the option to “email me a link” which is redundant if they've already been sent a link that has just been opened. It’s confusing and takes too many steps. The first option when they are manually sent a link should be to create a password to log in. “Log in” or click “forgot password” should be reserved for those who already have made a log in.

 

Under the current method they have to, 1: figure it out first. 2. Request a password reset or magic link, go back to their email then follow the email instructions.

 

The solution is clear first-time log in instructions (or different options), or just give us the magic link to send them from the beginning.
