Email replies not coming to HB if client uses aliases?

Since early August (post major update this summer) I have had a number of projects where I am not getting all email communication tracking back to HB.  I see all the email threaded beautifully in my Gsuite email inbox but some are missing in HB. 

After some exploration I have discovered that if my clients an alias for any address (alias: clientname@college.edu instead of assigned email: rct3x@college.edu) or using Apple products (name@me.com vs. name@icloud.com)  and have the reply from set differently based on their devices I only get messages from the email they entered in their contact form which means I have a very spotty/incomplete email thread in HB. 

I have been with HoneyBook for 6 years and I have never had this problem.  Is anyone else experiencing this? Anyone have a fix for this?

Has anyone had any email deliverability issues?  I have two separate clients for whom this is a problem and it’s a big deal for me...hoping someone has a solution.  HB wants my clients to request raw data from their employers/email providers and this is not my client’s problem and they aren’t able to get that data without going through major hoops.  Any help?
