Honeybook Road Blocks for Assistants

I love HoneyBook, but I’ve run into a few challenges since bringing on an assistant.
The platform doesn’t seem very intuitive or friendly for collaborative work. For example:

  • My assistant can’t schedule meetings on my behalf.

  • In the Tasks tab, we can’t see each other’s tasks anymore.
Before, I could easily check her progress to offer support or follow up where needed. She could also see when I was overloaded and step in to lighten the load. That visibility made a big difference for both of us.

These are the two biggest issues we’ve noticed, but there are a few other friction points too.

Is anyone else working with an assistant and found effective workarounds for this?
And @HoneyBook – are there any plans to make the platform more assistant-friendly?

@Kylie Griggs -  Thanks so much for sharing this — you’re definitely not alone! As more business owners bring on assistants or grow their teams, having stronger collaboration tools in HoneyBook is becoming more and more essential.

You’re right that, as it stands, assistants can’t schedule meetings on your behalf unless they’re logged in as the account owner, and task visibility is currently tied to individual users. That loss of shared visibility can definitely impact workflow and support.

Here are a few potential workarounds that might help in the meantime:

🧩 Use a separate workspace for internal collaboration
You could experiment by adding your assistant as a “client” in a separate internal workspace, then using that space to manage shared tasks, internal deadlines, or back-end steps. It’s a bit of a creative workaround, but it allows both of you to interact with tasks in one place, while keeping client-facing work separate.

💬 Outside the platform:
Until team task visibility expands, some users pair HoneyBook with an external tool like Trello or ClickUp to keep a bird’s-eye view of team progress.

🤞 The good news?
HoneyBook’s team is actively expanding task functionality and project management features, so fingers crossed more assistant-friendly options are on the horizon. I’d highly recommend submitting this feedback or upvoting it in the Ideas section of the Community so it gets on the radar in a big way.

Thanks again for sharing this — your insight helps shape the future of the platform! 💛
