New Conditional Logic Automations

We were just switched to the new Automations feature that includes conditional logic (great) but for the life of me I can’t figure out how to set up “date triggers” like we used to have in place. We used to have the option to work backwards from a project date. For example: 30 days before a project date we would automatically send out a questionnaire to our clients to gather information we need to finalize their project. Are date driven automation options gone now?

In addition to that we used to be able to modify / view the automated email that went out before it was sent and now that feature is gone.

Am I missing something?

The new automations seem limited in scope but the conditional logic was added…

Once I choose an yes or no logic feature the trigger side panel is no longer active.

HELP!

Hey @Rebecca Cross

Thanks for reaching out.

  1. For time related triggers, you’ll need to build an automation that is triggered "30 days before a project date". You’ll select "project date" as the trigger and set "30 days before a project date" on the trigger sidebar settings
  2. As for modifying the automated email, the team is building that functionality now!
  3. The third point, "once I choose an yes or no logic feature the trigger side panel is no longer active" sounds like perhaps a technical issue. Please reach out to our Support team at Concierge@HoneyBook.com with screenshots or a screen recording of that happening and they will be able to assist you further!

Hope this helps :)

I think that is the issue. I am not seeing the triggers (or all the options) after the logic is added in the flow.

Are you able to select multiple triggers along the way? Or just the 1st one?

@Rebecca Cross Yeah, I was surprised by the new builder when I went to start building out some automations for one of my clients. The new builder works very differently than the way we’re used to building automations inside of HB, so it took me a hot minute to rethink how to tackle the build (and I do HB setups as a living haha)

@Monica R It’s good to know that the team is working on the email editing setting because this was a huge feature that was missing in the new builder.  Are you able to share what else is still being added? I feel like there were several things missing, like the ability to customize an automation before it gets added to a project, the “after previous step is complete” to trigger the next step (this one affects the timing of a few of my steps), and I also liked being able to make one long automation for each service/package instead of having a huge long list of small automations.

On the positive side: I am liking the addition of conditional logic, and can’t wait to see what other functionality they add to this feature. I also really like the ability to have multiple automations running at the same time on a project and that a new automation can be started automatically without having to manually remove the first one and then add the new one.

Looking forward to seeing how the new builder comes together for its official release!

Honestly, I hate the new automations! I feel like the old automations were more user friendly.
