I’m feeling a little lost and can’t find an exact answer to my question…

So what I need to do is allow clients to click a link on my website and be taken to a place to book (sign contract and pay). To do this I think I need a lead form and then can either imbed or use the url, right?

But I also need to split the payment into a retainer and the balance. I read that this can be set in the payment schedule block under the invoice, however I cannot find a way to edit any of those details.

What am I missing?

Hi @Jenn Chen im a brand designer and HB Pro. Happy to help you with this.

There are a handful of ways to accomplish the same result—all comes down to what make sense to you and flows with your service/audience.

If you need a contract, you can you can use a lead form or contact form, then use an automation to trigger a smart file send.

That smart file would contain the invoice (with split payments), contract, and payment portal.

Can you tell me more about your services? That will help me offer additional advice 🤘

thanks for your response! Ideally I’m looking for a way to allow clients to click a link on my website and then be taken to a spot to choose a time, sign the contract and pay their retainer all in one step.

I prefer to not have them choose a date and then have to go to their email to finish the process. My clients are all super busy parents and I think I will loose leads in the process if it requires extra steps like that.

I found the split button right away probably because that's what I was really focused on. But Thank you all the help is needed. 🤩

Hey @Jenn Chen so sadly at this point we can’t include Contracts within a Lead Form, so you will need to have clients to do this in two steps. You can keep the Lead Form super simple — have this be the Scheduler where they select the time, complete intake, and submit deposit. Then you can auto send a Smart File with Contract page and an invoice with Balance due at whatever payment schedule makes sense (project date, etc. you can customize this in the Smart File temp itself).
