Send a client a proposal and a new project was created

I sent a client a proposal smart file from within their project and when they completed it, it created a new project with that file, not associated within the original project. And I can’t figure out why.

I’ve sent additional proposals to clients within products before when they wanted additional services, and it didn’t create a new project before.

I did add some fields to the smart file that included Name and Company name, but I looked and they are not marked to sync. The client did enter a slightly different Company Name in the proposal.

I double checked, and the proposal is listed in the Proposal templates, not as a Lead Form.

Anyone know why this happened?

And I’d like to merge the projects to fix the mistake. That should be possible, right?

Never had this one happen! That’s odd. Sounds like a glitch. I would contact support and see what they say.

Hi @SDesmond!

I agre@Than P, that’s unexpected behavior! Do you mind reaching out to support about this please? They will be able to look into what happened from a technical standpoint.
