Are there any plans for having an SMS option to communicate with our clients? I feel like having this option would be very helpful.

This is coming very soon! Appointment and payment reminders via text!

Yes I did see that. Thank you for doing that!

I am also curious if there will ever be a way to communicate through HB to our clients via SMS. For example: a lead comes in and we can text them. Like just general communication.

Will there be an option to send the client a text when you reply to their initial inquiry? I have to do this manually right now because my emails end up in their spam so often! It would be nice to just have a text that says “so and so has responded to your inquiry, please check you inbox”

Yes that would be good also. But what I specifically asking about is for example: we get an inquiry...that inquiry included a clients phone number...we use their number...then HB has a system that can include all team members if needed...we can text back and forth with that client using a local phone number. this is all done within HB no other apps needed. we can have some automations set up in that texting feature. we can have some texting templates. we can have the ability to run campaigns. something like that for example.

Hi all! Kait from the team chiming in to let you know that @Mac H hosted a great webinar (replay available) today where SMS was a hot topic. She started a new post here to gather questions about the feature and how it can be utilized. But also if you have any questions about the 30+ new features released over the last month, feel free to pop those questions into the comments there so Mac can start answering! :)

I would like this, too. I would love for there to be an SMS chat feature so that we can use the app to text the client and all the messages can be in the client site. It would be so great to have this feature. As younger people get older, they will want this too.

I’d love to have the ability to text with clients when they inquire - and still be able to see messages. I find clients respond to texts better (cause I’m talking to tired and pregnant mamas about newborn photos)

Chiming in on this one.  Many of my clients ignore the automated emails asking for information we need in a certain time frame.  I’m finding the ONLY way to get some of them to respond is to send them a text message.

I can’t tell you how happy you’ll make this old lady if I could do that through HB and not have to single finger peck out a text message on my phone!

Hey folks, Justin from the help center team following up here with some news! You can now send SMS reminders to your clients (learn how to set this up here). This isn’t quite a “live text chat” with your clients, but should help them remember any sessions they’ve set up with you or to make their payments on time.

Let me know if this helps! If you think we need to keep going with text messages, let us know by making a feature request so we can keep track of them and update with how they’re going :)

Did we get the text feature. ?

SMS in needed for proper client communication. Most people getting married and booking vendors are more responsive to texting than emailing.

Agreed! I’d like to send a message to clients when they inquire, and after a few days if they don’t schedule a call! This would be extremely helpful rather than having to text each client 1 by 1 when they inquire…

Hi HoneyBook Team,

In 2025, texting is no longer just a convenience—it’s the primary way people communicate. As loyal users, we truly believe that two essential features must be prioritized moving forward:

  1. Two-Way SMS Communication – We need the ability to text back and forth with our clients directly through HoneyBook, and ideally, allow our full team to do the same. Email is becoming less effective, especially when trying to close sales or confirm event details quickly. Texting is faster, more personal, and proven to increase response rates and booking conversions.
  2. AI-Powered Website Chat – A customizable chat system we can embed on our website, powered by an AI chatbot, would allow us to capture leads and answer common questions instantly—even outside of business hours. This could be a game-changer for client engagement. We could train the bot on our company and our tone just like you do for email.

With subscription costs increasing, it’s critical that HoneyBook evolves alongside modern communication trends. These tools are no longer “nice to have” they’re essential for staying competitive and providing a seamless client experience.

We appreciate all the features already available, but we strongly encourage your team to consider these updates as top priorities in your development roadmap.

@Derek Galiffa  - Thank you so much for taking the time to share such thoughtful and well-articulated feedback. You’re absolutely right—communication trends have evolved rapidly, and tools like two-way SMS and AI-powered website chat could truly transform the way many of us engage with clients.

While these features aren’t currently built into HoneyBook, your voice is incredibly important in helping shape what comes next. I’d highly encourage you to visit the Ideas Board to:

Submit this as a new idea, if it hasn’t already been requested,
or
Search and upvote an existing request, so the HoneyBook team can see how much demand there is for these tools.

When a feature gathers enough support from the community, it’s far more likely to be reviewed and prioritized by the product team.

Thank you again for sharing—conversations like this are what help the platform continue to grow alongside our businesses. 💛
