I run my consulting business and my catering business from Honeybook. I am going to start selling individual products as well (ice cream sandwiches and popsicles). Can I use Honeybook to make individual sales and track inventory like in a POS? Or is it too clunky to try to make that all work here and I should just use something else?

Hi, Heather! I’m Jack from HoneyBook’s performance marketing team. Happy to try and help you out.

First, I have a few question to help me better understand what you are looking to accomplish.

  1. Are you looking to add individual products as an additional service that will sit alongside your other services? For example, you are looking to add 12 ice cream sandwiches to an existing invoice with a set price for each.
  2. Alternatively, are you looking to sell one item at a time to a variety of customers at a single event? For example, you have a food stall selling ice cream sandwiches and you will charge each individual customer for an ice cream sandwich when they visit the stall.

If the answer to the first question is yes, then you can accomplish this by adding the items as an item or service on an invoice indicating the quantity and cost per unit that you are charging.

If the answer to the second question is yes, then I don’t think HoneyBook is the right solution for this part of your business right now. You can definitely indicate this offering as a part of the proposals and other documents you are sending to clients though!

I hope this helps!

Hi Jack, I’m looking for both. That’s what I thought. Thanks for clarifying!
