Hi Folks - Is anyone out there using smart files as a way to replace the legacy timeline file? I am a wedding planner and have been using the timeline feature for ever single project. Anyone doing something tricky with smartfiles here?

Since clients can come back to a smart file to continue working through it until they officially submit, you could try using the multiple choice question content block with each checklist item (simple screenshot example below). I’ve used the check box like this in my smart files, as well as for some of my clients and it works really well.

Your clients will be able to come back to the file time and time again to see what they need to be working on and can check off the tasks as they complete them.

Example of multiple choice check boxes in action (you can 100% design the timeline file as usual to fit your brand):

That’s an interesting idea! Thanks for sharing!

Hey, @ONeilEventsAndAdvisory!

I do a lot of HoneyBook setups for photographers who loved that legacy file and needed a new way to do it with Smart Files, too (I also loved it lol). For my setups, I started creating a timeline page and used two columns with text blocks to make it look similar to the legacy file with one side having the times and the other side having the events for the day! They’re able to customize what goes in each block and the client can view / leave feedback, but can’t alter the items themselves.

It’s a very simple thing to create, but if you would like to purchase my pre-made wedding timeline smart file template, you’d be able to pull that directly into your account to customize :)

Hope that helps!

@ONeilEventsAndAdvisory Glad to have helped! And I think combining both the check box idea with @Kaitlyn Cerrato’s column idea would be a really great combo for your timelines! I’m going to go try this out myself now! haha

These were both really helpful - and glad to know I’m not alone!
