Why is the contract not filled in with the selected service?

Once my potential clients choose a service to book, I send them a proposal that includes the invoice and contract. However, the selected service doesn't appear in the proposal. How can I resolve this? Why would the contract be sent without the service included?

I might need more context. But when you say the client selected services. Can you help me understand what that means? Is there a reason you are not having a smart file that includes the service selection page and within the same document has the invoice box AND add the services block within the invoice block.

Also if I recall you can convert a proposal smart file into an invoice.

Hope that answers the question

Hi @Stickler thank you for your reply! So a little context: a client inquires from my website and I send them a smart file pricing guide. This is not to book with me; it is just an inquiry. Once they select a service they are interested in booking, my automation step is to send them a smart file - proposal. Which if I click to approve the the step, it sends the smart file with contract, invoice, and payment.

But the invoice is never filled in with any information. Its blank. It does not pull in an data from the project. It just sends an non-personalized smart file. 🤷🏽‍♀️

When clients "submit" data do you have that info being linked to a project/client field? When you ask a question in a smart file you need to make sure the question box is linked to a field (it's in the side panel).

THEN

When a client adds info it gets added under the Details page of the project you are in.

THEN

When you want to recall that info you need to use the {Project fields} language throughout the smart filter. You need to use the {} to recall that info. So if you added {Project Name} it will draw that information from the details page into the smart file.

TL:DR

Are you using smart fields and is the info being saved into the details section of the project?

ALSO note that if you are just viewing the smart folder while creating the smart file you can NOT see the info while making the file. You need to use preview or view as client (which I can't remember the steps off the top of my head)

Hi @Naomi Sanouvong !

So the way you're currently doing it isn’t going to give the context the new smartfiles needs because the smartfiles don’t “talk” to each other if that makes sense.

side note: make sure your contract has a service recap block turns on.

So here is what you would do: in the initial file you're sending for the inquiry, you can leave the services as “view only” or create it as a design like below. (you can give instructions that service selections can be made in the proposal but this is at least showing the options)

They respond that they want to move forward (YAY) and you can send  the booking/proposal smartfile that has the selectable services on the first page. Then their selections will populate in the invoice and contract etc.

Hope this helps!
