Hey!

If you’re a dog trainer using Honeybook, I would love to hear some of your favorite work arounds for it! Comment below :)

I am excited to use smart files as a way to send infographics (i.e. loose leash walking, puppy biting, etc) to clients and be able to see when they look at them :)

Dog trainers* can’t edit the title!!

Brittany Dunbeck

Hi Megan!

I’ve been using HoneyBook since 2021 and love it for my training business!  I’ve modified my Pipeline so that I can better track my leads for my clients.  I have “Active” - “Inquiry” - “Contacted” (means I’ve initiated contact and am awaiting a response) - “Follow-Up” (means I’ve talked with them and am waiting for them to decide to book or not) - “Follow-Up Later” (means I’ve talked with them and they cannot book right now for whatever reason but want to book when they’re able) - “Proposal Sent/Signed/Retainer Paid” - “Planning” (for those that have paid but haven’t started with me just yet) - “Active Clients” (those actively in training with me) - “Inactive Clients” (clients that have active programs but have not booked/responded to scheduling messages) - “Completed” (Clients that have finished their contracts with me and are awaiting outprocessing) - “Archived” (Clients that are completed, leads that were no good, unresponsive, or black-listed go here).

I utilize the Smart Files for my contracts, invoices, and program overviews.  I also use them for Courses so that I can assign them to each client and track their progress.  I have Check-In forms that I also use that are Smart Files, so that I can track where my clients are as well outside of our lessons.

I’m currently using the Task feature to track what each client has on their project, so that way when they ask what they’ve done/have left, I can tell them.  I create the Task List based off of what their package includes, so if I have 4 Lessons and 4 Day Trains plus a Behavioral Consult, then I list each one as its own task within that project.  Once the Lesson/DT/BC is scheduled, I list the date that it’s scheduled for under the respective task.  Once it’s completed, it gets checked off- this way I have a way to track the dates and what is remaining on their programs.  It’s annoying and I’m hoping HoneyBook adds the feature so that it tracks automatically, but for now, this is the best way I’ve found to workaround it.

I hope this helps!

Same I am finding it hard to strategize my client contact points and minimizing the redundancy

I’m loving this thread! Thank you @Brittany Dunbeck for sharing that detailed response of how you’ve configured your account! Looking forward to hearing more!

Did ya’ll know that if you have templates you use to run your dog training or handling business, you can not only share them with others already on the platform, but also with other people in your industry who don’t use HoneyBook yet? If they sign up using the template you sent them, you get a referral bonus payout!

@Megan Crow I went ahead and edited the title for you ;)
