Some of our favorite takeaways from today’s session:
Getting started with building templates to sell
- Passive revenue is the self checkout lane for your business
- Passive doesn’t mean set it and forget it
- Templates are a great low barrier way to build trust with a client, don’t miss the opportunity to nurture!
- People shop for templates because it addresses a specific need for something they’re unable to create themselves; they want to look professional, save time, or try out a new use case.
- What impacts willingness to pay for a template:
- How easy is it to apply their branding post purchase; will it take less than 30 minutes?
- Is the copy ready to use so they only need to edit for tone or specific offering items?
- Does the template make their current process more streamlined?
- Does it integrate with a software (like HoneyBook)?
How to market your templates
- Marketing strategy needs SEO input; what keywords are your ideal clients searching?
- Suggested SEO tools: Ubersuggest, Answer the Public, Yoast, TubeBuddy, SEOSpace plugin
- Start sharing where you have an audience and where you are already marketing! The best place to spend time and money is to focus on channels that are optimized to be found by a larger group of people in the moment when they feel like they need it
- Candice has seen great success selling passive products through blogging, Youtube, Pinterest, email marketing, and through her podcast
- How to decide between free or paid?
- What do you feel okay giving away for free that is still valuable to lead up to a bigger offer? Offering something for free is a great way to grow your email list to turn them into a future client!
- Don’t ignore a nurture sequence!
- Plan quarterly; just put it on the calendar to maintain, update, and check in on your progress.
