Couple cannot sign the contract?

Elizabeth Gaines

Hello everyone,

I've done hundreds of contracts and proposals and never had this issue until now. However, I have a couple that claims they cannot “sign the contract.” I added myself to the project so I could see what needed to be done and It shows they haven’t initialed or filled out the required spots to allow them to actual sign at the bottom. Although, they state they’ve done that multiple times and it still won't let them sign. I create multiple versions of these proposals throughout the process. They want to sign over the document manually and then scan it over to me. Is this legal? How can I get around this electronic signing.

TIA!

I’ve had this happen to me and it was because the smart contract was originally sent to someone else for example the wedding planner and then we added the couple. The contract had the wedding planner set as the signer so I had to manually go in and edit the contract and update the Signer to the appropriate person. Not sure if that’s what happened in your case but just a note in case it’s a similar situation.

Hey @Elizabeth Gaines! First, I’m sorry that happened! That sounds really frustrating. Were you able to talk to support to see if there was an issue on the backend? Second, from my understanding, yes it would still be legal if they were to manually send the signed document.
