I'm Sarah, and I'm excited to introduce myself as the Project Manager for the QuickBooks revamp here at HoneyBook. Over the past few weeks, our team has been hard at work enhancing the integration to better meet your needs, and we're eager to hear from you!

Your insights are invaluable to us as we move forward with this project. Whether it's a feature you feel is missing, something you'd love to see improved, or any other thoughts on what should come next, I'd love to hear your feedback. Please feel free to drop your ideas or suggestions in the comments below, or reach out to me directly if you'd prefer.

Here are some things we are exploring in the next few weeks:

  • Tax code overrides to allow for multi state (or province) tax reporting
  • HoneyBook Capital fees and proper accounting
  • Instant Deposit fees and proper accounting

Looking forward to collaborating with you all to make this the best experience possible!

I was excited to get invited to this group to chat about the revamp, until I read that an accrual version of the sync is not even being considered - so my only idea is, reconsider! Otherwise, the sync is absolutely useless to me and anyone else who is required to present GAAP financials. Even just automating the incoming payment to a liability account and accounting for the fees would be incredibly helpful.

I was excited to be invited to the beta testing. But after the initial email I’ve noticed no changes at all to my Honeybook system. Was I supposed to be seeing something different on my system??

Hi Kellie!

Yes, you were supposed to see changes in your QuickBooks Dashboard within HoneyBook, changes within invoices as it relates to service mapping directly within HoneyBook, among others. @Monica R may be able to see if it’s something on the back end. Hang tight! 🙂

Hey @Kellie Barclay I just took a look and it appears that the new integration options are available on your account now! Check out https://www.honeybook.com/app/settings/company/quickbooks for the new dashboard.

Ok I see that - and I’ve found the How To with all the descriptions of things. But I don’t charge service charges, so there is no account to create and link.

I do have a discounts given account, but it doesn’t appear in the drop down menu on the HB side.

So I appear to be stuck!

Hi! 👋 If you don’t charge service charges, that’s okay, you could leave it blank (unmapped to a QuickBooks account).

“Discounts given” is automatically selected for you, you could see that under the status indicators, it’ll either be on or off.

Hope that helps! 😄

The accrual comment has already been made here, is it true that it isn’t being considered?

Are we able to map to different products to QBO.

Ex. Rental income for the Ballroom maps to the Ballroom Income GL in QBO vs. the Rental income from the Mezzanine to the Mezzanine Income GL in QBO?

Hey @Chad Riley! Yes you are :) Check out the Service Mapping feature and let us know if this works for you!

My biggest frustration with the old version were times when we had taxes that didn’t seem to sync correctly. Each month I find that I am having to do manual work to fix things that are in unclaimed funds that shouldn’t be. I end up going in circles having to update deposits, invoices etc just to get everything to reconcile.

Hey @Bethia Woolf! Have you gotten a chance to use this updated version? Have you found it’s been helpful for cutting down the manual work you have to do? Have things been syncing better?
