Hello all!
I just experienced something that I wanted to share!
I typically don’t have a lot of refunds but occasionally things happen! This morning I went to refund a credit card transaction that the client decided they wanted to pay by ACH instead. When I refunded the amount, it was just an easy 2-click process like I’ve experienced in the past. I received an email letting me know about the refund and when I read the message on the email, it informed me that the refund would be debited from my external account attached to Honeybook. You know, the one I was using before Honeybook implemented their finance situation, duh! I was immediately annoyed because thats not where the money was. The money was in my Honeybook Balance. Now, because of processing and transfers and everyrthing, I’ll most likely have to deal with an overdraft situation because i’ve been almost exclusively using my Honeybook account for all transactions and not my external business account from my bank anymore so my external account does not have this balance in it currently.
I reached out to the Honeybook team and they informed me that there was an option when I went to refund for selecting my Honeybook account 🙄.

Okay yes yes it seems apparent now but honestly, I didn’t even think about it. I’m thinking the refund will be debited from the account it went into, which is my Honeybook account. I tried to rush transfer funds to avoid overdraft fees so hopefully I’m not in the hole on this oversight!
My feedback to the Honeybook team was so make it so that you HAVE to choose an account option instead of it just defaulting like it does here. I hope this mistake on my end saves some of you the headache on yours!
