Workaround for Payment Plan

Hi lovely Honeybook Community!!

Seems like a lot of us would love to offer a payment plan / split pay option vs. pay in full to our clients in invoices while they are selecting services and scheduling time with us.

I found a workaround for this using a “checkout” page I built on my website + Honeybook automations + lead forms. My goal was to be able to do almost everything through Honeybook, especially collecting recurring payments automatically!

Although it adds an extra step (and seems a little long on the backend), on the client end it’s looking seamless and actually provides a sense of urgency for them to pay the invoice in order to confirm the service.

If anyone is interested message me and I’ll record a Loom video walking you through how I set it up for a new service I’m offering!

Would love to hear how you’re doing this, especially if it offers clients BOTH options - pay in full or payment plan!

Did you create 2 separate Lead Forms, one for pay in full and one for payment plans, with an automation sending the second half of the payment as a SmartFile for the payment plan?

I’d love to see how you do this.

Essentially yes this it what I did! For the Payment Plan lead form them, I have an automation set up where it sends one invoice as a SmartFile that expires in 24 hours (so that they are required to pay it in order to book and I mention that I’m holding the space for them) and then AutoPay is required for the second payment. I thought it would be easier to have one invoice to pay attention to for both the client and for me.

I’d love to see how you do this.

Going to work on some type of workflow that I can copy and paste in here this week to share with you!

I’d love to know all this as well.  New to HB and figuring things out.

FYI, just saw this in the features request. It appears they have the option to choose a payment plan in the works:

So hopefully this will simplify your process

Yes! Id love it if HB the client could select a “Pay Full Amount” and potentially we could even give a different price for all in one payments even!

Hi! I’d love to have access to this when you get it done. Thank you so much!!

Hey everyone!

Monica from the Community Team here. In case you haven’t seen…we’re actually in the early stages of rolling out the ability for your clients to select their own payment plans or to pay in full (in addition to the current payment schedule options you’re already familiar with).

Stay tuned 💸

Please, PLEASE enable Autopay Requirement for Payment Plans!  I’m tired of losing money chasing clients down to pay!  I’ve lost around $30,000 over the last 4 years because of this.

@Brittany Dunbeck HB has this setting to allow you to require autopay on your invoices. It can be enabled for one time payments and payment plans. If you don’t make it required, your clients can still opt in themselves if they’d like. Here’s a screenshot of where you can find it on the invoice settings.

How did you go about doing this? Would this work in the instance of collecting a 'deposit' and then requiring the remaining balance prior to the session.

Hello friends! I am curious if under services, that when they chose a service, are we able to customize the payplan structure for them? Does anyone know if this can be a feature under services offered in a brochure? Thank you kindly.
