Affiliate Program Workaround

Hey All,

I was wondering if anyone here has managed to figure out a solution to create an Affiliate program through Honeybook. Or find a way to connect Honeybook to an external automation or service where we can track Affiliate progress, referrals, etc.

We would love the ability to incentive our network to share our service, and in return, get a piece of the % of total invoice they refer us to. I understand that Honeybook does not have this, but only for their own Honeybook service.

If anyone has found a way to work around this, please let me know! Or we can come up with creative solutions in this thread to brainstorm and see how we can create such a thing.

( I have an experienced web dev on the team so maybe can tinker with some things)

Best,

@La Pizzeria -  I’ve looked into this as well, and unfortunately there isn’t a built-in way to create or track affiliate programs inside HoneyBook. Right now the referral system only applies to promoting HoneyBook itself, not our own services.

I haven’t found a true workaround either, since HoneyBook doesn’t expose referral tracking or any kind of affiliate cookie/ID system that could tie a lead to an outside source.

If you have a web developer on your team, the closest workaround would be to:

• Track referrals before they enter HoneyBook — using unique links, UTM parameters, or a custom form on your site
• Then route them into HoneyBook after they’re already tagged/tracked

…but the actual affiliate tracking and payouts would still have to happen outside of HB.

It would be great to have this natively, though! I’d definitely recommend submitting or upvoting it in the Feature Request section — I know a lot of creatives would love this, too.

You could also do this manually, though it’s not as effective or clean -

  1. Ensure “referral” is one of your Lead Source options
  2. Create a second question that says “If you chose Referral from the question above, who can we thank for referring you?”
  3. Make it part of someone’s job to check these every 2 weeks or once a month, and payout the referrals manually.
