Hi all!  I’m just now getting around to switching over from legacy to smart files and had a quick question about discounting services.  I want to list our service prices at our “full” price so our client has a record of our full prices.  However, I offer a discount on services if they are added at the time of booking.  Is there a way to automatically apply a discount to a service when the client selects or adds a service, so their invoice reflects the discounted rate after making all of their selections?

@Matt and Lauren Morrissey -  Great question! 🙌 While there currently isn’t an automatic way to apply a discount in Smart Files based on selections (like a “book now and save” trigger), there is a helpful workaround.

You can use Service Blocks to display the full price and then create an additional discount line item within the invoice section of the Smart File. This way, your client sees the full price for transparency and the discount clearly outlined on the invoice once selections are made.

Another option is to create a duplicated version of your Smart File with the discounted pricing already applied for clients who are booking at the time of inquiry — so you can keep both versions handy depending on the situation.

I’d definitely recommend submitting this as a feature request in the Ideas section of the Community if you haven’t already. This would be such a great addition for service-based businesses offering incentives for early booking!
