Automations 2.0 Scheduling from Project Date

In the old automations, I was able to send a “pre event check in” email 1 month before the project date. In 2.0 I don’t see a way to automate based on the project date.  Is that still possible or am I missing something?

Yes, there should still be a trigger based on the project date. HOWEVER, in the old automations, you could do it as an action (in the middle of the automations). In automations 2.0, it can only be done in as a trigger. So, you’ll want to start a new automation and make the trigger “1 month before project date,” then the next action would be to send the email “pre event check in”
