I’m trying to set up my fellow industry friend’s Automations based on how I have my old automations set up. Automations 2.0 while the logic is nice for those who need it, is completely overkill for what we need. I need simple simple - send them an email at 6 months, 5 months, 4 months etc…

We are hair and makeup artists...

Is this a lost hope with new Automations?!

You have the OPTION to make it complicated, but it’s not a requirement lol.

You create an automation for the 6 month email, another for the 5 month email and so on and so forth. It just looks different because it’s not all in ONE automation like before. But this gives you more control - now you can have clients coming you at the 4 month mark and not need to individually customize the automation for them. HB will know not to send the 6 month email because only the 4 month one is needed etc.

Thanks Diana… this seems like more work though when I’m booking 100+ clients/projects per year 😩

Ok thanks!

It’s LESS work.

You don’t need to switch automations like you did in 1.0. It will just naturally happen. So even though there’s 24982349823 automation runs, you don’t need to trigger each one individually like before (unless you want to)

Oh - ok. I misunderstood.

I’m going to test it out on my account, but if I try a 2.0, will all my old automations still be there? 😬

your old automations will still be there, but you’ll need support to revert you BACK to 1.0 if needed.

Ok, maybe it’s best if I don’t test it on my account 🤣

Hi Shannon,

I’m a makeup artist as well and ran into the same issue. I decided to stick with the old automations because no one could give me a clear answer on whether a bride who signs up six months out would end up receiving duplicate emails—one from the new automation’s monthly check-ins and another from older sequences—since they’re created at different times. Hopefully this make sense!

@Kiley I don’t think I can put links in here without triggering a moderator LOL. But you can book a free discovery call with me if that’s helpful.

Hi Diana,

What do you charge for help setting up Automations 2.0--or helping me along as I do it myself?

@Kiley I usually work with everyone’s budget. But do a free discovery call first so I’m clear about what you’re trying to do etc. We can work out the rest together :)

@Diana The Finer Points I understand this logic. It mostly makes sense. However, I send different emails prior to a booking and after a booking. So when I set up the multiple automations for each month based on the “Project Date Trigger,” will it send emails to all “projects” even if they are still in the inquiry/follow up stage? Or will it only send to projects that I have booked?

@Greilan Oliver if you add a “wait until first payment is made” step, it will check to see if they’ve paid for you before moving forward!
