Please make it easier for us to do our bookkeeping outside of HB by giving us easier access to the credit card fees per transaction.  I love the payments section and the ability to drill into the details of the payments, however, it is so silly and takes way too much time for me to download a report to actually see what the fees were per transaction to enter it into my bookkeeping system.

Why can’t this be a detail of the actual payment transaction that I received?  Why make this so hard for us?

Hi @Kathy Geffen ! Do you use another tool for bookkeeping? I have my Honeybook integrated with my QuickBooks account, and it automatically categorizes all my Honeybook transaction fees for me! (I just double checked it since I was sending my accountant my P&L from last year.)

Yes, QuickBooks desktop, which does not integrate with anything.   Regardless, on HONEYBOOK itself, it is very difficult to find it if you are not using Quickbooks Online so the transactions are integrated.  That’s nice it does it for you over there, but in HoneyBook itself, it’s not easy to find.

I am also struggling with this. I do not use Quickbooks, and I can calculate the merchant fees but I can not find “proof” for the IRS that Honeybook took the 3% transaction fee.  Where do I find this in Honeybook?  I want written proof because 3% is a huge amount of money that is not being proven. I do not want to pay taxes on that 3%.

Look at one of the transaction reports.  Download the CSV and you will see the fees per transaction.

Yes, PLEASE add this as a feature to make it easier to see credit card fees. Please consider showing the credit card fees for paid invoices. If there is a way for us to see the fees but not the client, that would be great. Thank you for considering!

There used to be a “total” and a “net” on the legacy invoices (when you click through to “see receipt”) so I would calculate it there to enter into my google sheet where I track expenses, but that isn’t available on the new smart files and it is SUPER annoying.

Have they changed this yet?  I am struggling to trying to figure out what the net cost will be for a deposit?
