I am a newbie to HB.  I sent out a test email to myself and I noticed it went to my junk mail on my hotmail account.  Is there a way to make sure it does not go to junk mail?

Is your email a domain email? or a @hotmail.com email?

It is a hotmail account not domain.  Should I use a domain name?

I’m not an expert in emails… but I have noticed that hotmail tends to be more spammy than others. Do you have another email address?

Try integrating your email with Honeybook.

Yes! Emails with custom domains always have better deliverability. Also, Gmail & Yahoo just posted updates that in the next month or so, if there are emails that come from emails WITHOUT custom domains, they will automatically go to spam (regardless of what platform you're using!)

Definitely what others said about the domain name, and also, the title of your emails, and body of your emails plays a part in it.  I use ChatGPT to try to optimize my email titles and email bodies to be better sorted by email inboxes. :) Hope this helps!

@Holly Axelrod  I’d love to schedule a 1:1 with you to learn more about this. I have had several issues with my domain-based emails through HB landing in spam with active clients. It is very frustrating. Here’s my calendar link if you are willing to share your secrets.

Get a domain e-mail through Google. It is about $6/month and you will use the Gmail platform to send/receive e-mails. It can then be connected with Honeybook and everything works really well together.

I know this isn't ideal but what I tend to do is request phone number in the lead gen form. This way I can text them letting them know I have sent an email and to please check their spam if they have not seen it. Even if you optimize if a client work for a corporate company there are securities in place to keep the email from reaching their inbox so if it is at all possible for you to obtain their phone number this gives you a back up way to communicate no matter what.
