Gmail Lead Finder Notifications?

Hello!

I love the new Gmail Lead Finder because I probably get 50% of my inquiries as direct e-mail vs form submissions. I’m wondering if there is a way to get notifications about these leads via the Honeybook app in the same way that you get notifications from actual form submissions.

Right now I only find out about Gmail Leads in Honeybook via the notification bell via “New information was automatically added to CLIENT  NAME to give you more info about this contact.” For me, information about the client isn’t my priority, I want to know about the project, and I want to know as soon as possible.

To that end, I wish Honeybook AI would create a project by parsing through the e-mail body at the same time it adds the contact info.

Am I misunderstanding the use case for the Gmail Lead Finder, or missing some of the settings?

Hey @Joe Underbakke! You’re not misunderstanding. The Gmail Lead Finder is designed to pull in contact details and a quick summary from emails, but it doesn’t actually create a project or trigger automations the same way a contact form does. Right now, you’ll only see those notifications under the bell (just like you mentioned), not as a new project alert.

If your goal is to instantly know about projects and even kick off next steps, the best workaround is still to continue manually creating the project or create a Zapier workflow, since those can be tied into automations. Unfortunately, Gmail Lead Finder isn’t able to parse full project details yet. It’s really more of a “capture lead info so nothing slips through the cracks” tool.

Your idea of having HoneyBook AI create a project straight from the email body is so good! Please make sure to add this in the Ideas tab of HoneyBook so the developers see that this is something users really want.
