How to Google ad conversion ping after lead submission?

So once a lead form is fired off, there is an automatic “thank you” note from honeybook that populates and says the form was successuflly submitted… but the web page that is supposed to load (which triggers a conversion ad metric) only loads if someone clicks "done".

Is there a way to either make the webpage auto load without clicking done, or put my conversion code in the auto-thank you? Or what’s the workaround?

@Mike J - Great question—you're right that the default HoneyBook "Thank You" message appears after a Lead Form is submitted, but the conversion tracking code (like from Google Ads or Meta) won't fire unless the user clicks “Done” and is redirected to your success page.

✅ The workaround:

You can create your own custom success page on your website and set that as the redirect destination after a Lead Form is submitted. This gives you full control—so you can:

  • Add your Google Ads or Meta pixel conversion code directly to that page.

  • Trigger conversion events automatically without relying on the user clicking “Done.”

Here’s how to do it:

  1. Go to your Lead Form editor in HoneyBook.

  2. Click the Settings (⚙️ icon) in the top right.

  3. Under “After Form Completion,” choose “Redirect to a URL.”

  4. Paste the link to your custom success page (with your conversion tracking code installed).

This setup ensures your ad metrics are accurately captured every time someone submits your form.

@Alicia Bauer I don’t think you’re correct in that. After a quick chat with Honeybook AI, it looks like what you’re referencing is for smart files, but not lead forms. I’d love to be wrong on this, but I’m still searching for (and asking Honeybook for) a way to redirect leads to a custom, trackable thank you page that can allow for data to be collected by Google and Meta when someone converts to a lead after seeing an ad.

@Abbey and Josh Reznicek it’s wild to me that putting this tracking code into a thank you message isn’t possible yet haha (like, no one will click Done)… but, @Alicia Bauer is right, that redirect to a page that fires off the code is the only solution atm

@Mike J I know, the “Done” button is basically useless. There’s probably less than 1% of people filling out any form that are going to take that extra, irrelevant step when they’ve already clicked “Submit” and have a message in front of them saying their form was received.

I did find a workaround that I’m able to use for now. What Alicia is describing is possible with contact forms, but not lead forms. If you create a contact form, you can have the “submit” button redirect the lead immediately to a custom page from your website without needing them to click an extra button. Then you can add tracking and tags to your custom thank you page.

I agree it’s wild they don’t have this solved for lead forms, especially because that’s the newest coolest thing right now.

Yeah, can we get this “DONE” button removed and just have it auto redirect to the custom page?  I have been checking back on this for years.  Please Please fix this.  Thank you!
