Hi Honeybook team,

I am trying to upload client files and contract from Honeybook to Google Drive.

From the trigger in Zapier I was able to create a folder  when a new project is created and while trying to upload client files, I only saw a url and not a file for me to upload to the drive. How do I go about this. Thank you.

Hey @Eunice!

While I don’t work directly with HoneyBook, I’m a certified HoneyBook Pro and would love to help you out. I know Zapier + HoneyBook + Google Drive setups can be a little tricky. Just to make sure I point you in the right direction, can I clarify a couple things?

  • When you say “client files,” do you mean signed contracts, forms, attachments your client uploaded, or something else?

  • Are you hoping to have the actual file stored in Drive, or is saving the URL link enough for your workflow?

  • Which Zapier trigger are you currently using (ex: new project created, file signed, etc.)?

The reason I ask is that HoneyBook usually passes contracts and files through Zapier as URLs, and depending on what you need, there may be a couple of different ways to handle it (sometimes adding a middle step if you want the PDF in Drive). Once I know a bit more about your exact goal, I can share some options that might work!

@Kaitlyn Blair, thank you for helping.

Yes, I mean  signed contracts, questionnaires, or any other attachments that clients upload.

I am currently using the “new project booked” trigger in Zapier.

Also, I would love to have the files saved in my Google Drive.

Thank you!

Thanks so much for the clarification! You’re not missing anything. To my knowledge right now, HoneyBook’s Zapier integration only sends over a URL link (which is why you’re seeing the links and not the full files themselves). That means contracts, questionnaires, or client uploads can’t be automatically dropped into Google Drive as full files through Zapier alone.

A couple of workarounds you might try:
✨ Save links in Drive: Have Zapier create a doc or sheet in Google Drive to store those URLs, so you always have a searchable log in one spot.
✨ Manual download: Inside HoneyBook, you can still download contracts/questionnaires manually if you’d like a local backup.

I know that’s not the perfect answer, but you’re definitely not the only one who’d love to see stronger Zapier triggers and actions! I’d encourage you to drop this in the Feedback tab so the HoneyBook team sees just how helpful this would be for users. 🙌

Thanks again for bringing this up! These kinds of questions spark great discussions in the community!
