@Bozena Voytko - Great question! At the moment, HoneyBook automatically marks tentative projects as "busy" on your calendar once a session is scheduled, regardless of whether the project is officially booked. I totally understand how that can be frustrating, especially when you're trying to keep your availability open for confirmed events.

The best workaround right now is to manually adjust the project status or calendar entry if you're using the calendar integration. But I definitely recommend submitting a feature request or upvoting an existing one asking for the ability to show "tentative" projects as available or "not busy" until they're fully booked.

You can do that through the question mark (?) icon > Share an Idea or head to the HoneyBook Feature Request Board.

Fingers crossed this becomes an option in the future, you're definitely not the only one who would benefit from this!

That’s interesting @Bozena Voytko because I came across this looking for the opposite, hoping that I could get tentative projects to block out my schedule and respect the “Busy” indicator.

As it turns out though what you’re describing should happen according to Set your availability for project dates in HoneyBook.

Default availability setting

All new HoneyBook projects are set to Free by default on your calendar. This means they won't block your availability unless you adjust your preferences. Clients will always be able to schedule sessions with you during the project date or date range.

If you want booked project dates to automatically appear as Busy—blocking off that time on your calendar—you can enable this in your settings. You won’t show as available during the project date or date range once the project is booked, for example, when a contract is signed or a payment is made.

For tentative projects, even if they’re marked as Busy, availability will still show until the project is officially booked.
