Tracking traffic on a lead form

I have a Honeybook lead form  on my web page. I’m currently getting quite a bit of traffic to my site but not converting, and as I work on this one of the things I want to make sure is that the prospects aren’t getting to the lead form and then saying, Never mind. I don’t see a way to track traffic opening the lead form but not completing it. Since it’s not on my website I can’t track it with Google.  Am I missing something?

*Note that I do have conversion tracking set up by routing the lead form submission to a Thank You page on my website.

@SWatson - Great question! It sounds like you’ve done a smart job setting up conversion tracking by routing submissions to a thank-you page — nice work there 👏

You're correct that if you're simply linking out to the lead form (rather than embedding it), you lose some visibility into how visitors are interacting with it before they submit. One workaround is to embed the HoneyBook lead form directly onto a page on your website. That way, you can use tools like Google Analytics or Hotjar to track on-page behavior — including visits, scroll depth, and even drop-off points — giving you a better sense of where you may be losing leads.

You’ll still be able to route to your thank-you page after submission, so your conversion tracking setup can stay in place. Just be sure to check that your website platform allows for iframe embeds or HTML blocks (which most do!).

Hope that helps you uncover more insights about what’s working — and what’s not — on your lead page!
