The $30/mo + $6 payee is is a bit steep for someone who only uses the occasional contractor to cover wedding events.  That works for W2 employees and staff, but not contractors who are intermittent and might only work 1-2 wedding events a year.  Other payroll platforms offer more suitable options in their product lineup to allow for “contractor-only” option like Gusto, etc.

@Tony Biggar -  I can definitely understand how that pricing structure feels steep when you’re only bringing on contractors a few times a year. For businesses with intermittent 1099 support rather than ongoing W2 staff, a contractor-only tier would make a lot of sense.

It might be worth submitting this as a Feature Request (or upvoting one if it already exists) specifically asking for a lower-cost, contractor-only payroll option. When feedback is framed around real usage patterns — like 1–2 events per year — it helps the product team better understand the gap.

In the meantime, some people do choose to run occasional contractor payments through other platforms that offer more flexible pricing, depending on how frequently they’re paying out.

Totally valid feedback — pricing models don’t always fit every business structure.
