Clients should be able to make payments anytime

HoneyBook should allow clients to make additional or early payments toward their balance without requiring us to edit their payment schedule or contract first.

We regularly have clients ask to pay a different amount than what is currently scheduled. Right now, we have to tell them to wait while we change their payment schedule AND have them re-sign their contract before they can simply send us money.

This creates unnecessary work for us and an awkward, unprofessional experience for the client.

Other platforms, like Dubsado, already allow this flexibility.

Honeybook is failing us; they make changes constantly that affect our workflow and do not improve the customer service experience. Changes like this add value, improve customer service, and take away unneeded work for us and our clients.

Clients should be able to log into their portal, choose “Make a Payment,” enter any amount up to their remaining balance, and pay it. Their existing payment schedule could simply adjust to reflect the new balance.

Clients wanting to give us money should be one of the easiest parts of the process, not something that requires additional admin and paperwork.

If you agree or have experienced this headache would love to hear from you in the comments to help advocate for HB to make this change!

I agree. It’s super inconvenient as it stands now, and I echo the sentiments that honey book keeps making changes that aren’t actually helpful, while somehow ignoring requests that actually improve our and or clients experiences. Still waiting for to-lists to be restored to their earlier functioning.

@Traci Edwards and @Aimee Flynn - This would make a really great feature request! I know it there are more community members out there that would love this! I have found an existing request that you can upvote if it is similar enough (pasted below). Or I suggest resubmitting this as an idea and let other member upvote this as I know they will want to!
