Creating a TO DO list versus using tasks?

I know lately there has been a lot of conversation regarding using tasks in Honeybrook. My question for all of you is has anybody found a work around to having a list of tasks that act more like a “to do list” without a due date assigned to it? As a photographer I have specific emails I send out for all projects but I don’t want due dates assigned as I need to manually do things and every project is different with time and based on when clients respond etc. I want to have a manual To Do List as a check-off to make sure I don’t forget to send the emails in the right order. But unfortunately the tasks menu does not allow that, and everything has to have a due date assigned to it. This is frustrating I wish that they would institute some sort of simple To Do List on the side of a project that we can create once and apply it to projects versus using and automation list. Am I the only one wanting this? Has anyone found a workaround to use the tasks as a simple To Do List without having dates assigned? Shawn

Hey @Shawn Spencer!

To make your tasks look like a To Do list in HoneyBook, I have a few thoughts:

  1. You CAN still add the task in the project without a due date. You’ll need to do this manually within the project. But note that they won’t show up in the “tasks” tab. And you won’t be able to automatically do this, it’ll have to be manually done. But if you click into the project, you’ll be able to see your action items there. I’ve added a picture so you can see what it looks like.
  2. You can utilize the Notes tab in your Project for your to-do list. You can use a bullet point list and either strikethrough your completed items or delete them

  3. You can always use a Zap to connect to a Google Sheet or project management tool like Trello or Asana if you want things to be more automatic and templatized :)

I know you’re not alone in wanting a more comprehensive task management system! I know I would greatly benefit from it. HoneyBook uses the Feature Requests tab to build new HoneyBook features, and I found one that is requesting better task and project management features. I’ve gone ahead and upvoted it, and feel free to do so as well (and anyone else reading this!)

@Kaitlyn Blair thank you so much for these ideas.  I did upvote the “More Comprehensive Project Management Option” you mentioned. I will definitely try out your suggestions and see what works for me.  Thanks again, Shawn
