Honeybook Referral Discount vs. Honeybook Trial Offer

I just noticed this now - my current HB offer is 50% discount for new subscribers… Which is the exact same as if a subscriber just went to HB and signed up for the free trial/discount on their own. It’s in the announcement banner.

Am I missing something? Just trying to understand the incentive for them to use our code? If they forget, they can still subscribe for 50% off anyways just directly on the Honeybook site.

Curious as to the logic here 🤔

I did have somebody say they used the $1/month promo instead of my code ... that's what I signed up on as well. I haven't done the math with the new plans to see if, overall, the savings over a year are better or worse...

Circling back to this!

I sent someone my referral code the other day after I helped them by answering their questions on another forum. When I shared it, they said “Oh thanks, but that’s the same offer HB is offering to new subscribers anyways”.

I understand that people should be using the referral as a thank you for helping them out, but if HB is giving them the same discount, there’s not much of an incentive & they might be less inclined to use our code.

😕

Thanks for this! My question was more of a ‘what’s the perk’ of using our code to sign up vs just signing up on their own - the discount is the same!

I’ve sent 5 people to HB after extensively talking it up and walking them through it and only 1 of the 5 used my promo code (some forgot, some used the HB promo, and another signed up on mobile so didn’t qualify). They all circled back to thank me and have asked for help setting up their accounts. With HB’s increased pricing, this seemed like a win-win opportunity to ensure the subscription is more affordable and sustainable for my business, while also helping fellow vendors. This really removes the incentive for me to continue to promote the service (beyond wanting to continue to share resources with vendor friends and folks growing their businesses).

Also, how did you get to the point of being able to offer 50%? Mine referral promo is only 30% off.

Perhaps HoneyBook would consider setting up a referral program incentive for those of us who volunteer our time to also help our referrals set up and optimize their accounts. I was motivated to do this before since it meant the vendor would find success navigating the new systems and keep their subscription beyond the 100 days, but now I'm far less motivated to carve out that time and to share my systems knowledge if my code wasn’t used and they aren’t a close friend.
