Price increase due to...sketchy ai features?

tl;dr: I think the AI agent is cheapening the HB product and we should not be experiencing price hikes.

I’ll be so honest. I have loved Honeybook. I try to use it to it’s fullest capacity and have often argued with folks about how much better it is than other platforms-one of my favorite parts of that being the customer service and how quickly issues/ glitches are resolved. I especially love the innovations that have been getting introduces these last 2 years- lots of exciting and wonderful features.

That said, after the 2ish year with the new AI features and trying to keep a very open mind, I feel like the quality of HB is going down and I’m experiencing more glitches and crashes. For context, I am pro using AI but only when mindful about it as a resource and when it actually helps.

Lately I’ve been turning off more and more AI features because double checking the work of the AI agent takes up almost more time than just doing it myself. It is clogging up my workflow to double check the AI work.

Specifically:

  • I’ve had to rewrite the automated drafts because it makes up rando times I’m working or package prices that aren’t offered. I wouldn’t expect AI to know these things. But it’s annoying to have to fix.
  • The business trend reports have been an on going issue for me. It gives weird month/ date labels for the dates it’s reporting on (Ex. I just received my monthly “March Review” which covers Feb 3- Mar 3. Today is March 3. It should be labeled “February” since the dates are for feb)
  • It’s pulling incorrect details for potential leads from my Gmail- I’ve since turned this feature off
  • I’ve turned off Leach Enrichment to automatically gather contact details because some of the info it’s pulled has been wrong.
  • The Video meeting summaries have been helpful. However it often gets the script off a little (like ending sentences for one person early and putting it into the next person’s dialogue), which takes a little extra sifting through.
  • The priority list, for me, is turn off because we’ve had to shift so much with the new features that it’s not fully accurate.
  • This has all resulted in me not trusting the reports or anything else the ai summaries spit at me.

All in all, I’ve been turning the ai features off more and more because I’d rather not clean up ai mess. If my business is a machine, it’s starting to clog up the functionality of it.

SO, with all of that, why would I want to pay more for the Honeybook services if they’re getting cluttered with Ai insufficiencies? I almost don’t even want to try for the annual discount. It’s sad, but this might be what makes me want to finally migrate to a different platform. The expense is outweighing the benefit.

Maybe instead of training the AI on folks who are paying for it, offer it as a subscription add on for those that want to use it?

@Michelle Evans -  Thank you for sharing your perspective so thoughtfully. I can completely understand why the AI features would feel more frustrating than helpful if you’re spending extra time double-checking and cleaning things up. That defeats the purpose of saving time.

HoneyBook is continually making upgrades and rolling out updates, so while the AI tools may not be hitting the mark for your workflow right now (which is totally understandable), I’m hopeful we’ll see current and future releases that improve accuracy and reduce the “AI cleanup” time, because that’s the only way it actually supports small businesses.

I also think your idea of offering AI as an optional add-on (instead of bundling it into the core product experience) is a really valid suggestion. If you haven’t already, it could be worth submitting that as a feature request so it’s formally tracked, especially if others feel the same.

Appreciate you putting words to what a lot of users are probably experiencing quietly. 💛
