With smart fields in text blocks, you can now create more personalized and dynamic content customized to specific criteria or data points of your choice.

This new functionality is designed to make it easier for you to streamline the file-sharing process, delight your clients with tailored details, and save time for everyone!

How does it work?

When inside of a smart file template, select a text block, and either type the { symbol to reveal your field options or select from the list in the right hand menu.

Now when you use that file template in a project, client and job specific details will automatically populate!

I would be GREAT if one of the smart field options was my client’s Company Name. As of now my own Company Name is the only option.

SO excited about this one! 🎉 Thanks for sharing Mac!

I only see the standard set of smart fields as options, not the custom fields I have created.  The custom fields are available in the contract section but not emails and text blocks.  Is this a me thing or is it only the standard fields that are currently available?

Hey @Melissa Sera, great question! The custom fields are just the standard fields at the moment, but I LOVE the idea of expanding this include custom field details. Can I suggest that you submit it as a feature request here in the community so we can track how many other people feel the same way?

Thanks for chiming in!

Melissa Sera

This was talked about in many of the threads for ‘smart fields’ and upvoted many times already on items that show as ‘received’ or ‘released’. Missing the custom fields is major limitation as it makes the he work of customizing HoneyBook to my own business a bit of a waste if I can’t pull the info or fields that are vital to my project work.

I totally hear you. Thanks for elaborating on that.

The “received” status is still a version of “open”- meaning our team is actively reviewing those so all the information and comments there is still super relevant to the work our team focuses on. So feel free to continue to make your voice heard in those threads (though it sounds like you already have) so we can see your voice(s) in numbers 💪🏼

Appreciate you being here Melissa and thank you for the awesome feedback!

Yes!!! This would be so helpful.  Some of my emails have my client’s company as part of the email.
